Here are the P.E. expectations that will be expected of your child in class:
* Get into squads immediately after putting water bottles by drinking fountains
* Bring water bottles to class - 1 extra credit point if you do
* Actively participate in every activity
* No talking while Coach H. (or substitute) is talking
* Show good sportsmanship at all times - play fair and include everyone!
* No profanity or bad language will be tolerated
* No bullying, teasing, negative comments, or rough play
Here are the P.E. consequences if the expectations are not met:
1. The student will receive a warning, then point deductions taken
2. If student cannot manage self, he/she will sit out until ready to return to play
3. If behavior is severe, a lunch detention will be given and the parents will be notified
Each student is given 5 participation points per P.E. class period if they are wearing the correct clothes, shoes, and participate in the activity that day. Point deductions can occur for disruptive behavior, goofing around, not following directions, not wearing the right clothing or shoes, or complaining about the activity planned for that day (to list a few). It is a 1 point deduction if the student is not able to participate in class for that day (not wearing the right clothes or shoes will keep them from participating).
ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A NOTE FROM HOME OR A DOCTOR IF THEY CANNOT PARTICIPATE DUE TO NOT FEELING WELL OR AN INJURY. If a note from home is not provided and the student refuses to participate, points will be deducted for that day which will affect their grade. If a student has not been participating due to an injury, he/she must have a note to release them from the restriction before they can participate in P.E. again.
