I have created alternative lesson plans to fit the needs of you all being home right now. Please scroll down to find the lesson for your child's grade level. This is something that your child can do daily, or 3-4 times per week, to stay active. Lesson Plans for May 11th – 22nd The NFL has put together a website with lots of resources for staying active. I hope it is going well and is a good resource for the whole family. K – 2nd graders: Digital Workout: Below you will find a link for an exercise video for young kids. Please have your child do one of these videos 3-4 times per week: https://youtu.be/VMj2ZgQqsNA - a workout video with counting and cute graphics https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUXEUmWp8QYSTNB3UksDuMQ - these are work-out videos with Coach Bob. He does a younger student-oriented workout. There are 8 videos in this series so lots of options. Please continue with these due to there being so many available. https://youtu.be/5y3gCrL_XIM - this is a 30- minute yoga session based on the Moana movie https://youtu.be/02E1468SdHg - this is a 30-minute yoga session based on Minecraft Non-electronic workout: Have your child do the following 3-4 times per week: 22 jumping jacks 22 body twists on each side 22 high knee to opposite elbow touches on each side 22 push-ups– either knees down or regular 26 toe touches 22 side reaches on each side When they are done with this, please have them do our P.E. stretch routine. They ae ducks for May (quack quack). 3rd – 8th graders: Digital Workout: https://aha-nflplay60.discoveryeducation.com/videos - there are numerous videos on this website presented by the NFL and The American Heart Association. www.pyfpathome.org – this is a great website. It is a four-week challenge that gives students the different exercises to do, then the ability to track them over the four weeks. Non-electronic workout: Have your child do the following 3-4 times per week: Time your child as they run a mile. See if they can improve their time as the increase the number of runs they do. Please made sure they are staying in the aerobic heart rate zone! 45 seconds each of: jumping jacks body twists on each side high knee to opposite elbow touches on each side push-ups– either knees down or regular – make sure you go to a 90 degree angle toe touches side reaches on each side burpees squats – make sure your bum does not go below your knees wall sits – legs at a 90 degree angle vines – 4 to the left, then 4 to the right – put your arms up and down with the movement When they are done with this, please have them do our P.E. stretch routine.
